Biography

John Stone was born in Newton, Middlesex County, Mass. Bay Colony on 18 September 1692, the son of Ebenezer and Margaret (Trowbridge) Stone [1][2][3][4]

John Stone of Framingham married Abigail Stratton, the daughter of John and Abigail (Prentice?) Stratton, 04 Nov 1719 at Watertown.[5] He and his wife were named in John Stratton's probate administration papers in April 1720.[6]

John died 11 Jan 1769 in Newton,[7] and is buried in the East Parish Burying Ground in Newton in Plot 1361.[8] A photograph of his gravestone can be viewed at Findagrave.com Memorial #7104385.

Notes

Learned the weaver's trade, selectman 8 yrs., deacon of Framingham and Newton. Dismissed from Framingham to Newton Sept. 27 1728; Located in Framingham for 7 years. Returned to Newton in 1723. Bought farm in Oak Hill Section from Ward family.
