Mr. Leroy Straughn died at his home near Rose Hill, a few days ago. Deceased was one of our oldest and most respected citizens, and his loss will be deeply felt.^[4]

Since the original survey in 1996, which appears in Tracking Your Roots: Covington County, Alabama Cemeteries by Franklin & Hidle, someone has placed a marker for him in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Covington County, Alabama as there was no marker for him there at that time.
