  • Nathaniel was born in 1798. He is the son of William Stubblefield and Elizabeth McDaniel. [1]
  • On January 12, 1820 he married Polly Armstrong in Madison County, Alabama.
  • They had 11 children. Elizabeth (1821), Nancy (1824), Jonathan (1826), Robert (1831), Patsy(1836), Catherine (1838), Michael (1840), Absalom (1842), Sarah (1845), Matilda (1847), and Susannah (1850).
  • By 1830 they were living in Jackson, Alabama, with 4 children under ten.
  • By 1840 they were living in Franklin, Tennessee, with 10 children.
  • In 1850 Nathaniel & Polly are living in Osage, Crawford County, Missouri. Nathaniel is a farmer, and he and Polly have 8 children at home.
  • On October 28, 1855, Nathaniel married his second wife, Jemima Williams, in Osage, Missouri.
  • In 1860 he and Jemima are living in Jefferson Township, Osage, Missouri, with his 2 youngest daughters from his first marriage, Matilda & Susan, and his son with Jemima, 3-year-old James.
  • By 1870 Nathaniel is again a widower (Jemima died in1861). He is living in Texas, Ozark, Missouri, with new wife Martha, 19, James, 12, (his son from Jemima), and new baby, Alcey, 5 months old.
  • In 1876 he is shown living in township 29, Texas, Missouri, with Martha and their children: Alsey, Lucy, Nathaniel, & George. All 4 children are under 10.
  • He died before the 1880 census, and Martha, now 30, is described as a widow. She still has 3 of her children, Alesa, Lucy, and Nathaniel.

Stubblefield-169 and Stubblefield-109 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate son of William Stubblefield. No source for either death place; both can be noted in bio pending further research.

Stubblefield-109 and Stubblefield-522 appear to represent the same person because: We have a few sources that are unsure of the death date, which seems to be the largest difference. Other than that these two profiles do appear to be the same person. Please merge these two so we can share this tree!
