Joseph Thaxter was born on August 22, 1723 in Hingham, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay. His parents were John Thaxter and Grace Stockbridge.
He married Mary Leavitt on December 08, 1742 Together they had 11 children
In 1745, the land in Abington which was left to him by his grandfather, Samuel Thaxter was divided between him and his brother, Benjamin.[1]
