“Unknown Powhatan” has been disconncted as the child of Totopotomoi and Cockacoeske, the wife of Matthew Anderson, and the mother of Seth Frances Anderson, Cynthia Anderson, and Bartelot Anderson. There is no documentary evidence that Tototpotomoi and Cockacoeske had any children; Cockacoeske had only one documented child, a son known as “John West,” born after the death of Totopotamoi. At Cockacoeske’s death a niece called “Betty” was named her successor as “Queen of the Pamunkey” strongly suggesting that she had no daughters. “Unknown Powhatan” only seems to exist in on-line trees and Internet messages.
Little is known of the Anderson family due to record loss. If Matthew Anderson left a will it has been lost, so the name of his wife and children are not certain. Widow Cecilia is listed as the landowner in 1719. [1] Matthew and Cecilia are possibly the parents of sons named James, Bartelot, and Charles based on land records and later wills.

Unknown Powhatan should be disconnected as the child of Totopotomoi and Cockacoeske, the wife of Matthew Anderson, and the mother of Seth Frances Anderson, Cynthia Anderson, and Bartelot Anderson unless there is some documentary evidence of her existence. As previously noted, there is no documentary evidence that Tototpotomoi and Cockacoeske had any children; Cockacoeske had only one documented child, a son known as John West, born after the death of Totopotamoi. At Cockacoeskes death a niece called Betty was named her successor as Queen of the Pamunkey strongly suggesting that she had no daughters. Unknown Powhatan only seems to exist in on-line trees and Internet messages. I've posted some additional information on G2G
