Biography

European Aristocracy
Elizabeth Touchet was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Elizabeth Touchet, daughter of Humphrey Touchet by his first wife Elizabeth Courtenay, married John Sydenham.[1]

SYDENHAM V.5 p.108 says 3 sons, Henry and 2 named John. One of the Johns, a knight, is followed by Richardson under SYDENHAM 17 and has an HOP article. He is the only one wikitree follows. He m Ursula Bridges 6s 3d. Wikitree has 5 children.

Elizabeth must have died before 1531 because her husband remarried in late 1530.

Touchet-118 and Audley-211 appear to represent the same person because: I put the rationale on Audley-211 for Audley.

The LNAB is a wikitree construct, you can't research it very easily for people born before 1500. We can research surnames,w hich I've done - best LNAB is Audley.

Her father Humphrey, for whatever reason, used the surname "Audley" even though his father and half-brother went with Tuchet/Touchet. I haven't found a reason - this is before people petitioned the King or parliament for new/additional surnames.

His daughters Elizabeth, Phillippa and Joan (who prob. dvsp) were 'da. of Humphrey Audley". His son John is listed in the visitation of Norfolk as Awdeley or Audley, dep. on the version.

Touchet-118 and Audley-211 are not ready to be merged because: LNAB was not settled for children. All that was agreed upon was that Sir Humphrey was known also as Audley. Still researching for LNAB for children.

Touchet-118 and Audley-211 appear to represent the same person because: I think we've settled on Audley for her "LNAB" based on the G2G.

Touchet-118 and Audley-211 do not represent the same person because: Audley was not introduced as a surname by father, Humphrey. It was actually not used until Humphrey's brother, Edmond used Audley as his surname. Remainder of Humphrey's siblings as well as Humphrey used Tuchet/Touchet. So correct LNAB is in place until another documented source is given.

Touchet-118 and Audley-211 appear to represent the same person because: This is the generation that transitions from Tuchet/Touchet to Audley, her cited surname

Can you add me to this profile as a manager? I can fix it.

Anyone pre-1500 able to repair the LNAB? (PMs welcome.)

What is the LNAB question please? How do we avoid the merge being frozen now?
