Biography

Wife named Charlotte. Daughter Mary married William L. White (1784 - 1836).[1] Other children: Evelina Tryon 1799 - 1878 and Elizabeth 1796 - 1843 [but see research question]. So far as can be determined, neither Evelina nor Elizabeth ever married.

Research Question

The headstone of Elizabeth Tryon who died in 1843 clearly states she was aged 17 at her death, giving her a birth year of about 1826, so it is possible she is a granddaughter rather than a daughter. Charlotte appears as a head of household in the 1820 census in Ballston.[2] She was living in a household with one other female, aged 16 - 26, who could be the above named Evelina.

Wright Tryon appears in tax records in 1799 in Ballston, Saratoga Co., New York. The next entry in these records is for Salmon (Solomon) Tryon, who is very likely to be the brother closest in age to him. The names of his wife and daughters I've added comes from FindaGrave. But this particular family seems especially difficult to trace. They do not appear in the local newspapers.
