Biography

George Tuchet, 1st Earl of Castlehaven (c1551-20 February 1616/17) was the son of Henry Tuchet, 10th Lord Audley and Elizabeth Sneyd. He m.(1) Lucy Mervyn, daughter of Sir James Mervyn and Amy Clark, bf 28 August 1584 and (2) Elizabeth Noel, daughter of Sir Andrew Noel and Mabel Harrington, on 29 April 1611 at St. Mary le Strand, London, England. He succeeded his father as 11th Lord Audley, of Heleigh 30 December 1563, by writ. He was created 1st Earl of Castlehaven and Baron Audley in the peerage of Ireland on 6 September 1616.
