Sarah E. Blair (born Tullis) was born July of 1843 in HIllsboro, Illinois to Harvey A. Tullis and Mary P. Tullis (Cheatham). Sarah died in Saratoga, Minnesota on March 9, 1879. As a young girl, her mother married Stephen Shields, and Sarah took his last name. In 1858, at the age of 15, she married Charles L. Blair, and had five children; Harriet Newell Tinker (born Blair), Verona M Blair, Cora Elizabeth Blair, Estella Blair, Ethel W. Blair.
