Biography
According to a family Bible entry made by his father Ahasuerus Turk (1697-1774), Jacobus Turk was born 30 October 1735. The entry, in Dutch, reads: 1735 Den 30 October Is mijn tweden soon Jacobus geboren.[1]
A family Bible entry by his brother Ahasuerus Turk (1742-abt.1806) states that Jacobus Turk sailed from New York on 23 November 1779 aboard the barkentine York, Captain Jolly, and has not been heard from since.[1][2]
