Desire (Tuttle) Reed was born on 11 Jul 1697 in New Haven, Connecticut Colony, daughter of John Tuttle (~1657 - 1759) and Mary (Burroughs) Tuttle (1672 - >1759).
Her siblings were:
Desire married Daniel Todd (1686 - 1724) on 20 Apr 1721 in New Haven.[1][2]
Desire married John Reed (1701 - 1786) on 26 Aug 1730 in New Haven. Their son was Josiah Reed (1732 - >1780).
Desire died about 1743 in Connecticut Colony aged ~45 [3]
Discrepancy Observed: Death ~1743 is attributed to undocumented Find a Grave A Entry. However, Find A Grave currently provides a death date of 26 August 1730, which is highly improbable because that is the same date that Desire reportedly married John Reed. Are any other records available to better identify or estimate when Desire died?
Desire was baptized in New Haven, Connecticut Colony, on 1 Aug 1697.
In "Families of Ancient New Haven" There is a miscellaneous section on the Read name on page 1502, vol 3. It reads as follows: John m 26 Aug 1730 (New Haven VR)--Desire [da. Joseph & Elizabeth (Sanford) Tuttle, wid. Daniel Todd, bp 1 Aug 1697 (First Congregational Society, New Haven).
Other sources state: Desire is daughter of John and Mary (Borroughs/Burroughs/Burrows) Tuttle. (more research is needed)
In "Reed-Read lineage: Captain John Reed of Providence R.I. and Norwalk, Conn. and his descendants through his sons, John and Thomas, 1660-1909" by Ella Frances Reed Wright, a section on page 549 includes the following:

The Compendium of American Genealogy, Vol. VI page 198 has Daniel Todd marrying "Desire Tuttle (bap. 1697; John, m Mary Burroughs;)"
More sources (numerically speaking) have been found supporting John Tuttle and Mary Burroughs as Desire Tuttle's parents, but it should be noted that further research may prove Joseph Tuttle Jr. and Elizabeth (Sanford) Tuttle are the correct parents.
