Sarah Tuttle Slawson

Origins

Sarah was baptized in April, 1642 at New Haven, Connecticut Colony[NHChR 11].[1] She was a daughter of William Tuttle and Elizabeth UNKNOWN.[1]

Family

Sarah married John Slawson, son of George Slawson, on November 17, 1663 at New Haven.[NHVR 1:20][1][2]

  1. John Slauson b Sept 9, 1664 Stamford, Fairfield Co., mar Mary Holmes, daughter of Stephen and Martha.
  2. Sarah Slason b Jan 20, 1667 Stamford, Fairfield Co., mar Ebenezer Bishop
  3. Jonathan Slawson b July 25, 1670 Stamford, Fairfield Co., mar 1) Mary Waterbury, daughter of John and Mary, 2) Rose Stevens, daughter of Obadiah and Rebecca.
  4. Elizabeth Slason b June 30, 1672 Stamford, Fairfield Co., mar Nathaniel Pond.

Death and Legacy

Sarah was killed on November 17, 1676 by her brother, Benjamin Tuttle, with an axe. He was tried and hanged for the crime in 1677.[2]
