The birth date and place as well as the surname of Mary (Unknown) Stevens is unknown.
By 1639 she married Robert Stevens. It is possible Mary (Unknown) had a previous marriage to a man with the surname of "Hatch," since her husband willed 5 shillings to "his daughter" Mary Hatch." Mary Hatch could have been a step-daughter since previous in his will he bequeathed his full inheritance to his only daughter, Sarah Cleaverly.
The couple moved to Braintree, Norfolk, Massachusetts by 1640.
Her husband, Robert Stevens, died between the time he wrote his will on July 1, 1682 and the time of the inventory of his estate on December of 1682. The inventory totaled L97 10s., 6d. of which L71 was real estate. Mary, his widow, was the executrix of his estate and everything was willed to her during her natural life. Following his wife's death the his daughter Sarah Cleaverly received the inheritance; with her husband as the overseer. He also willed 5 shillings to his daughter Mary Hatch, which could possibly be a step-daughter - a daughter of his wife's 1st marriage.
Mary, widow of Robert Stevens, died at Braintree on January 22, 1691/2.
Unless otherwise cited, this biography is based on Anderson's "Great Migration", featured sketch: Robert Stevens.
