Biography

William was baptised May 29, 1810 in Poughill, Cornwall, England. He was the son of Abel Uglow and Honour Kinsman.

He married Elizabeth Prout on May 6, 1841 in Otterham, Cornwall. They must have emigrated to the USA sometime between 1850 and 1853 because son William was born in England while son John was born in Pennsylvania.

In 1860, William and Elizabeth and their children were in Clinton Township, Wayne county, Pennsylvania.[1]

In 1870, William and Elizabeth and their children were in Canaan Township, Wayne county, Pennsylvania.[2]

In 1880, William age 70 and Elizabeth age 60 are with their son Edward age 12 and their widowed daughter Jane Swingle and her 2 daughters Ethel age 4 and Eva age 2.and their family were in Waymart, Wayne county, Pennsylvania.[3]
