Note: Mary is listed on the 1870 & 1880 census as being 55yrs & 65 yrs old
respecively in the Bennett S. Pierce household, rel. mother
Mary's last name was given to me by Rachel Pierce Hoket, granddaughter of Bennett Pierce.
She said she thought Bennett's mother was a Meeks. This has not been proven, however, there
were several Meeks families living next door to the Gaylors in Coosa County in 1850.
