Born about 1558 at Wadley in Berkshire Henry Unton was the son of Edward Unton and his wife, Anne Seymour, daughter of Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset. [1][2] He was educated at Oriel College, Oxford [1] [3] and at Middle Temple. [4]
In 1580 Henry married Dorothy Wroughton, daughter of Thomas Wroughton of Broad Hinton in Wiltshire. [1][5] The marriage was childless. [1]
Henry was knighted at The Battle of Zutphen by the Earl of Leicester, on the 29th of April 1586. [6]
He served as the ambassador to the Court of Henry IV of France in 1591 and 1595.
Henry died in France on the 23rd of March 1596 [1][7] and was buried at Faringdon.[3][1] [2]
