Biography

Sarah Vail (sometimes spelled Veal) was the daughter of United Empire Loyalists Nathaniel Vail and Elizabeth Dennis. She married Adam Burwell, another native of New Jersey, and they settled in Upper Canada where Adam received a land grant in Bertie Township for his military service as a loyalist during the American Revolutionary War.[1]
