I recently acquired papers from my father Lee Harlie Snow, Jr. with handwritten papers by my grandmother, Kathleen VanHoose Snow, which include pages copied from "the Bible of Annis Adeline Gregg wife of Peter Pinckney Van Hoose" and list information regarding John Van Hoose, Lydia V. H., his wife, and their children's names, birth dates and places. Nancy Snow

"My first Van Hoose ancestors in Washington County were John and Lydia Lewis Van Hoose. Their graves, north of Wilson Park, have been destroyed along with their noted lawyer son, Peter P. Van Hoose's grave. All were in quaint rock graves above the ground, and develpers used the rocks for building projects. James Ha[y]den and his two wives Melinda Mcilroy and Martha Skelton are buried in Evergreen Cemetery. There is a deed at the courthouse for the little 1/4 acre cemetery."
