Biography

Solomon Veazie was born[1] at Braintree, Mass., Feb 28, 1723, to Samuel and Deborah (Wales) Veazie.

In March of 1744/5, Solomon, apparently preparing for a trip (from which he did not return), wrote a short and simple will[2], leaving to his mother and sister, Joanna Veazey, one-half each of his estate. It was witnessed by Benjamin and Mary Porter, and Ruth Pain(sic).

That will was proved September 24, 1745. Although he had given his mother "Deborah Veazey" power of attorney to handle debts, he had not appointed an executor. On the same date his will was proved, Samuel Veazey (his father) and Elijah Jordon(sic) (the husband of his sister Joanna, whom she had married after the date of Solomon's will) were given administration of Solomon's estate by the court in Boston.

The exact date of his death isn't known. His will makes it apparent that he was going on a trip sometime about March of 1744/5. Whether that trip was by land or sea isn't known. However, as he declared that his will would be void if he returned from that trip, and that will was proved, it appears he died away from home, likely not too long prior to the proof date.
