Note

Oklahoma did not become a state until 1907, and I don't think Nowata existed in 1865. I honestly can not get a solid answer anywhere that might tell us where Susie was born. 1865 may be too early for the area organized into Indian Territory. It's possible I'm too tired, but the Wikipedia entry seems chaotic mess: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Territory
