Shadrack Ward was the son of James Ward and Sarah Osborn in Virginia. He married Lavina Hylton on 11 Nov 1810 in Floyd County, Kentucky. SHADRACK WARD: Floyd County, KY Marriage Bonds & Consents: Bond dated 11, Nov. 1810 by Shadrack Ward and Benjamin Hilton for a marriage shortly to be had between Shadrack Ward and Lovina Hilton. Sir, This is to certify that Shadrack Ward and my daughter Levinne Hylton have agreed to join togeather in the bands of wedlock and there will be no danger in issuing lisons for the same. Last Will and Testament of Shadrack Ward
I, Shadrack Ward of the County of Johnson and State of Kentucky, being weak in body but of strong mind and disposing memory, and being desirous of disposing of all this World's goods which it has pleased God to bless me with, I make this my last Will and Testament, to wit:
1st: I give and bequeath to my wife Lavina all my land that I am now possessed of, also all my personal estate To Have and to use for her own benefit in her natural life or widow-hoot, upon condition that she will give to my daughter Lavina at the time she arrives to lawful age, or gets married one horse beast worth fifty dollars, one cow, one bed and the necessary furniture and Fifty dollars in cast - or that amount in Something else that she may choose
I also desire my wife to give to John G. Walters, a horse, bridle and saddle, horse to be worth Fifty dollars and the Saddle ten dollars, upon condition he remains with my wife until he is of lawful age or gets married; and I further desire that at the death of my wife, That my estate shall be Equally divided between all of my children.
I hereby appoint Greenville Preston and James A. Ward, Executors of this my last Will and Testament given under my hand this 14th day of July 1853. his Signed in the presence of us Shadrack x Ward John H. Ward mark J. G. Walters

I, John Hawes, Clerk of the County Court for the county aforesaid, certify that this writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Shadrack Ward, deceased, was this day produced in open court and was proven by the __ of John H. Ward one of the Subscribing witnesses thereto who also proved the land writing of J. G. Walters The other subscribing witness, Which Will was by Order of Court admitted to record.

Writing purporting to be The Last Will and Testament of Shadrack Ward produced in court and proven by the oath of Jno. H. Ward one of the witnesses thereto and the handwriting of G.C. Walter the other witness was proven by the said Jno H. Ward. It is ordered that said Will be admitted to probate.
State of Kentucky County of Johnson
I, W. P. Davis, Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid, certify that a writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Shadrack Ward, deceased, was at the September Term, 1853 of the Johnson County Court, produced in open court, proven by the oath of Jno. H. Ward one of the witnesses Thereto, and the handwriting of J. C. Walter the other witness, was proven by the said Jno H. Ward, duly admitted to probate and ordered to be recorded, which is done accordingly together with the Order of Probate and this Certificate.
This Will is recorded a second time for the reason that the first record did not contain The Order of Probate.
