Biography
Mary Ward was born about 1795 in Virginia[1] to James Lemill Ward and Sarah Ann Osborn[2]. Because Mary was underage when she was to marry Alden Williamson, Her mother Sarah had to sign a permit. They married on October 26, 1812 in Floyd County, Kentucky[3]. In the 1820 census Mary was living with her husband and 4 young children in Floyd. That area of Kentucky becomes incorporated into Lawrence County, and the family is found in the US Census living in Lawrence in the census from 1830 through 1860[4][5][6][7]. In the 1870 census Polly is living with her son Asa and family[8]. She was no longer found for the 1880 census[9].
