James Winfield was born 29 Jun 1869. He was the son of William VanBuren Ward and Elizabeth E Collins.

James married Cora Melvina (WILSON) 22 Dec 1889. They were the parents of two children. James passed away 27 Nov 1935 and was buried in Edinburg IOOF Cemetery, Grundy County, Missouri.
