Richard Washburn Jr., born on 10 May 1769 in North Castle, Westchester Co., NY,[1] mentioned in the 1775 will of his father, probably married Mary “Polly” (__) in ca. 1791.[2] He may have been the Richard Washburn living in Greenburgh, Westchester Co., NY, in the 1800 federal census.[3] On 5 May 1807 Richard Washbourn, of Greensburgh, Westchester Co., NY, farmer, and Mary his wife, sold to John Martine, of Greensburgh, farmer, for $1062.50, two tracts of land in Greensburgh containing in total about 25 acres, including timber rights in a parcel of land that Richard Washbourn had formerly sold to James Tompkins in Greensburgh.[4] He died after 1807, but no probate records were filed for his estate in Westchester Co., NY.
