This profile appears to be a muddle of multiple people. Records from 1892 list a Cheyenne man named "Medicine Water" aged 51 with a wife named " Ma ka on na" aged 61 and a daughter named "Red Woman" aged 11. Either the wife's age is incorrect, the daughter had a different mother, or the daughter is actually a granddaughter. Only father and daughter are listed on the next census, in 1895. He was still alive at age 83 when a census was taken on June 30, 1924.

The 1900 U.S. Indian Census lists Medicine Water, head, Susie Medicine Water (other name Red Woman), age 19, daughter her husband, and a son.

Kathie,

I haven't seen evidence that the profile manager has continued interest in this profile and I encourage you to make the changes needed.

I will also ask Eowyn to PPP the profile. You and I as project coordinators should still be able to attach or detach relations as needed.

No actual LNAB, so we should use Cheyenne for the early members of this family.

Rrggg. A merge was just completed going in the wrong direction. I'm going to Change his LNAB. Sigh.

I can't do it. I Need one of the profile managers to please change his last name at birth to Cheyenne. Reminder: we use tribe name for Native Americans for the era before they adopted surnames. Once done, I can Project protect the profile to prevent the name from being changed again, thanks

Kathie, I came back to this profile for another reason. I now wonder about the surname. He's in the 1900 census with the surname Water.

Kathie, which LNAB should we use?

Water-2 and Water-3 appear to represent the same person because: Father-son relationship is wrong. Same person

This family was Cheyenne/Arapaho, not Comanche. They have no Texas connection, they were from the Northern Plains and forced to move to Indian Territory in 1867. I believe the earliest roll is from 1887.

Tagging for NA project attention.

Same death as his father? One of the same spouses?

Medicine water II cannot be the father of Chief Iron Jacket. He was not born until 56 years after chief iron jacket was born.
