Biography

Perlina was born in 1850 in Wayne County, Virginia (now West Virginia).^[1]She married Samuel Isaacs on August 30, 1869.^[2][3][4]The couple had several children, including son Augustus Isaacs.^[5]Perlina Jane passed away on May 2, 1936.

Research Notes

I've updated Perlina Watts Isaacs profile. I corrected the spelling of her first name from Paulina to Perlina and added her married surname, Isaacs. I've included additional sources and reformatted the old links for readability. Perlina Jane Watts Isaacs is my 2nd Great-grandmother. Her name is often misattributed as "Paulina" although many census records, marriage records, and death records list her as Perlina/Purlina. There are several Paulina & Perlina Watts Isaacs listed in census & birth records for Wayne, West Virginia & surrounding areas so it's very understandable how the name confusion could arise.

Samuel Isaacs and Perlina Watts Isaacs also had a grandaughter named Perlina Isaacs who is listed as living in their household at age 10 years old on the 1910 U.S. Federal Population Census for West Virginia. I've made corrections to Perlina's profile with respect to the original profile created during the import of AdamsFamily4.GED on 28 March 2011. Since wikitree does not allow more than one profile per person, I could not create a new profile for Perlina Watts Isaacs as the individual in this profile represents the same individual. In the 1850 census, it lists Perlina Watts, born May 10, 1850 in Wayne, West Virginia, as the youngest infant daughter in the household. She is listed along with her parents and siblings. Her Father, Daniel Jackson Watts, is listed as Head of Household. Her Mother, Margaret Adkins, is listed as well. Perlina Watts is listed as the youngest of eight siblings during the 1850 census.

The 1900 U.S. Federal Census for West Virginia, https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M9CR-F5Z has Perlina Isaacs birthday listed as May 1850. Her husband, Samuel Isaacs, is listed as Head of Household. Their son, Augustus Isaacs (my Great Grandfather), is also listed on the census record as living in the household. He was 20 years old and his birthday is listed as April 1880. Augustus Isaacs wife, Fannie Isaacs Mary Frances (McComas) Isaacs Hale , is listed as Samuel Isaacs and Perlina Watts Isaacs daughter-in-law on the census record. Their sons Jesse Isaacs and Wlliam Isaacs are also listed.
