Biography

John West was the only son and heir of William West of Firbeck, Yorkshire, England and Catherine Darcy of Dertford, Kent, England.^[1]

John was born 1605.^[2]

John West married Frances, daughter of Christopher Hodson of Beeston, in 1627^[1] or 1630 in Rothwell.^[2]

John died without issue on 7 June 1659^[2] or 9 June 1659,^[1] and was buried at Firbeck. His will was probated on 20 Sept 1656.^[1]

His eldest sister Elizabeth West (born 1606; died 1669; buried at Aston, Yorkshire) was his primary heir. She married 1st John, Lord Darcy (no issue) and 2nd Sir Francis Fane (had issue).
