Rosanna West was born about 1822 in the Cherokee Nation (East) the daughter of Sarah Harlan, a Cherokee granddaughter of Nan-ye-hi/Nancy Ward, and a white man, Jacob West. [1] She married Nelson Rogers about 1839. They were the parents of four children, Lewis, Bluford, Sarah, and Eliza. [2] Nelson left the family and emigrated to Indian Territory before Removal. Rosannah and the children were Removed to Indian Territory and settled in the Saline District [3] where Rosanna died in 1869.
