Biography

Samuel White was born on 04 September 1696 in Salem, Essex, Province of Massachusetts Bay, the son of Josiah and Remember (Read) White. [1]

He was named in his father Josiah's will written on 3 Mar 1710 and proved 5 June 1710. Josiah mentions his wife Remember, sons Josiah White, Joseph White, and Samuel White (under 21), daughters Sarah White, Hannah (under 18).[2][3]

He married Dinah Kinney, before 1719 when their first child was born.[4] She was the daughter of Henry and Priscilla (Lewis) Keny or Kinney born on 09 December 1698 in Salem.[5] Her father's will, dated at Sutton 01 Feb 1727/8 and proved 10 August 1732, names daughter Dinah, wife of Samuel White of Salem.[6]

Samuel was a wheelwright in Salem, and on 10 February 1734/5 he and wife Dinah sold all their rights as heirs of Henry Kenney, deceased, to Theophilus Kenney of Sutton. Henry Putnam sold land in Danvers on 27 September 1753 to Samuel White of Danvers, yeoman, alias wheelwright.[7] Wheelwrights Samuel White and Samuel White Jr., both of Danvers, sold land in Danvers with the consent of their wives Dinah and Martha.[8]

Samuel died on 05 December 1773 in Danvers. Dinah was still living on 03 January 1774.[9]

Samuel White of Danvers, yeoman, left a will dated 21 August 1771 and proved 03 Jan 1774, in which he named his wife Dinah; daughters Jerusha Peabody, Eunice How, Anna Nichols and Mary Nichols; and son Samuel White to be executor.[10] His wife's consent to the provisions of the will is in the file.

What is the reference connecting George E. White to this family? He does not appear in the William White Volume Thirteen Mayflower Families Silver Book.

The "source" was not given and I find no support for the relationship. He's been removed. Thanks for noticing & commenting.
