Joshua White served as a Captain in the Revolutionary War, of the 12th company, 4th Plymouth County regiment of Massachusetts militia in 1775, and in a brigade to be commanded by Col. John Cushing, Jr. in 1776, and in Col. Ebenezer Sprout's regiment, marching Dec. 8, 1776 to Howland's Ferry, R.I. on an alarm, and in Lt. Col. Jeremiah Hall's regiment, and in Col. Ebenezer Sproutt's regiment, marching on two alarms at Dartmouth in 1778, and in Col. Ebenezer White's regiment in 1780 marching to Tiverton, R.I., on an alarm.

Joshua was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts in 1725, the son of Benjamin White and Ann. [3]
