Louisa (Whitfield) Kirkpatrick was born in North Carolina.

Louisa H. Whitfield was born in 1853 in North Carolina.[1] She was the daughter of Hatch Whitfield and Anna Unknown.[1] In the 1860 Census, Louisa Whitfield was recorded as 7-years old living in Indian Springs, Wayne, North Carolina with her parents and siblings.[2] She and her family moved to Monroe County, Mississippi where she married John M. Kirkpatrick and lived there the rest of her life. She was the mother of ten children, five boys and five girls. Louisa died in 1930.

Marriage and Children

She was married 26 November 1868 in Monroe County, Mississippi to John M. Kirkpatrick.[3] The 1900 Census shows they were married for 32 years and that she was the mother of 9 children, all living at the time of the enumeration. The 1910 Census shows she was the mother of 10 children, 8 living at the time of enumeration.
Louisa and John had 5 sons and 5 daughters.

Death and Probate

The Mississippi Death Index shows a Mrs. L. Kirkpatrick died in April 1930, Certificate No. 6274.[9]
According to her Find A Grave memorial, she died 17 April 1930 and is buried at Hatley Cemetery, Hatley, Monroe County, Mississippi.[10] The referenced memorial does not show a tombstone photo or cite sources.
Her son W.H. Kirkpatrick was the executor of her estate. Probate records filed 22 April 1930.[11]
