Biography

Rachel Willard, born 27 November 1745 in Harvard, Worcester, Massachusetts, was the daughter of Tarbell Willard and Rachel Haskell.[1][2]

Rachel and Oliver Wetherbee, both of Harvard, Worcester, Massachusetts, published their intentions to marry on 27 December 1761.[3] They were married on 11 March 1762[2] in Harvard.[4][5] Rachel and Oliver had the following children in Wendell, Massachusetts:

  1. Rachel, born 9 April 1763[6]
  2. Caty, born 9 March 1765[6]
  3. Tarbell Willard, born 22 April 1767[6]
  4. Ann, born 1 February 1769[6][7]
  5. Lucy, wife of William Worcutt was named in Oliver's will.[8] She was born 27 October 1770[6]
  6. Sally, wife of Joseph Caldwell, was named in Oliver's will.[8] She was born 12 April 1773[6]
  7. Oliver, named in Oliver's will,[8] married Sally Ann White.[9] He was born 16 April 1776[6]
  8. Sybil, wife of John Huson, was named in Oliver's will.[8] She was born 12 February 1779[6]
  9. James, named in Oliver's will,[8] married Susanna Vaughan.[9] He was born 27 February 1782[6]
  10. Polly, born 3 May 1784[6]
  11. Nancy, born 7 Oct 1786[6]

Rachel's date and place of death are unknown. It is assumed that she died before her husband made his will on 22 September 1813, as she is not named in it.[8] She was probably living in 1810, and is the one female enumerated in the household of Oliver Wetherbee in Kingsbury, New York.[10]
