In 1745, Elnathan Wood of Middleborough was appointed his guardian after his father had died.[2]
In 1754, above the age of 14 years, Lemuel made the choice of Isaac Tinkham to be his guardian.[3]
He married Rebekah Tupper in 1765.[4]By 1800 he had located in the Town of Leyden, Oneida County, New York, in an area that would become the Town of Ava.[5]
