Joseph Woodson was born about 1694 in Henrico County, Virginia. About 1724, Joseph married Susannah Watkins, daughter of Thomas Watkins. [1] Joseph and Susannah had one daughter Mary Woodson, who married Poindexter Mosby.[2]
Joseph Woodson died in 1791 in Powhatan County, Virginia.

Joseph Woodson's Will, dated 4 July 1791 and proved 15 September 1791 in Powhatan County, Virginia. Executor grandson Joseph Mosby. Witnesses: Miller Woodson, Matthew Sanderson, Dancy McGray, Benj. Hobson, Joseph Davis.[3][4]
