DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

1. There is no documentation as to the place of birth for John Worley Sr. John's first appearance in era records show that William Kennon was awarded a 50-acre headcount 14 July 1718 for transporting ten persons, including John Worley, to Henrico County, VA. On 2 Sept 1720 John and his wife Martha (???) Worley bought 55 acres on Swift Creek in Henrico County, VA, the place where he lived.
2. There is no documentation or implied connections between John Worley Sr. and Edward Worley!
3. John Worley's wife was NOT Esther BLOUNT! Esther Blount married a comtemporary John Worley in North Carolina. This is evidenced by a marriage record.
4. The date shown for when John's will was proven was not in 1795. "At a court held for Cumberland County the 27 day of March 1758, the last will of John (Sr) Worley, decd, was proved by the witnesses hereto and by the court ordered to be recorded." (The writing is very faded.). It seems strange that the Day and Month of his Will and the Proven date are the same but exactly one year apart.
Note 1. The children of John and Martha were, per his will: John (Jr/II), William, Mary Esther (Maxey), Christian (Agee), Jude (Smith), Elizabeth (Gibson), It is believed by some that Lovick (born ~1727) was another son but it's unknown as to why he wasn't in John's will.
Note 2: Southam Parish conducted Sunday services at Worley's Reading Place (his home) for many years. On 16 Sept 1748 South Chapel, which was located near John Worley's home (which was on land that became a part of Cumberland Co., VA in 1749) was accepted by the parish and John Worley was named as Sexton for same. John was paid 500 lbs of tobacco per year until his death in 1757. Upon his death his wife Esther became the Sexton and rec'd the same amount annually. The position of Sexton was appointed to William Worley, a son of John and Esther, upon the death of Esther in 1772. The original Worley homestead and South Chapel were now located in Goochland Co., VA.
Note 3. Big-Y DNA testing at Family Tree DNA shows that this Commenter, Harry (Worley) Dunn, whose 7th GGFather was John Worley Sr, is a match to Ralph Blankenship (born ~1662, died 1714). Ralph and John knew each other in Henrico/Goochland/Cumberland/Chesterfield Counties. John and Esther Worley patented 277 acres next to Ralph's widow, Martha, on 17 Aug 1725. All the facts, combined with circumstantial evidence, points to the possibility that John Worley Sr was a son of Ralph Blankenship, or possibly Ralph's father.
Worley-364 and Worley-98 appear to represent the same person because: SAME NAME, same wife, same time frame, part of the confusion, I have 3 John Worley's in a row. John 1698, john 1720, John 1735. I do not have 1 person living that long.
Worley-562 and Worley-364 appear to represent the same person because: same name, close to exact in birth and death, same place and time frame, I would merge thanks
