Biography

Hazel Dell Bird, daughter of Charles Stewart Bird and Ella May (Foster) Bird, was born 20 Dec 1890 in Muscatine Co., Iowa. ^{[1] [2]}

Her father was a farmer and a methodist and had served in the War of the Rebellion in the Illinois Cavalry. Her mother was twenty years younger than her husband.

She, her parents, and her siblings, Julia May (b.c.1877), Maud (b. 1879), Martha (b. 1882), Charles H (b. 1887), Nellie (b. 1887), and Raymond (b. 1895) lived in Fruitland, Muscatine County, Iowa, ^{[3] [4]} and later in Muscatine ^[5]
