Franklin Delano Roosevelt (often called FDR) was the 33nd President of the United States. The only President to have served more than two terms, FDR was elected to four terms in office serving from 1933 to 1945.
He was a critical figure during notable 20th century economic crisis and was instrumental in programs such as the FDIC, TVA and SEC. One of his most remarkable and long-standing legacies is the Social Security system.
