Biography
Moses Abbot served as a Lieutenant in the French and Indian War and later held the rank of Captain in the militia. He was a yeoman, surveyor, and schoolmaster in Andover. His homestead, which was divided between his sons Noah and Enoch, became the sites of two historic homes in Andover, 6 Stinson Road and 22 Stinson Road. The home at 6 Stinson Road was nominated to the National Register of Historical Places.[1]

- Capt. Moses Abbot, born in Andover Aug. 9, 1735. He was a surveyor, and resided in Andover. He married Elizabeth Holt Dec. 31, 1761 ; and died Feb. 23, 1826, aged ninety. She died Sept. ___, 1838, aged ninety-five.

- I. Rebecca, b. Jan. 2, 1763 ; m. Joseph Phelps June 28, 1798.
- II. Moses, b. Nov. 30, 1765; m., first, Martha Frye Feb. 5, 1799. She d. Sept. 15, 1804, aged thirty-two ; and he m., second, Priscilla N. Flint. She d. April 5, 1811, aged twenty-seven; and he d. April ___, 1813. He had children.
- III. Elizabeth, b. May 8, 1768; d. Feb. 12, 1829.
- IV. Noah, b. May 11, 1770; m. Hannah Holt in 1806 ; and had a son.
- V. Hannah, b. March 15, 1772; d. April 13, 1840.
- VI. Enoch, b. April 8, 1774.
- VII. Rhoda (twin), b. Sept. 8, 1776.
- VIII. Anna (twin), b. Sept. 8, 1776; d. July 27, 1834.
- IX. Henry, b. Sept. 22, 1778; m. Dorcas Holt in 1803 ; and had children. She d. March 25, 1842, aged sixty; and he d. Sept. 23, 1845, aged sixty-seven.
- X. Jacob, b. June 30, 1781 ; d. May 12, 1836.
- XI. Abigail, b. Dec. 22, 1783 ; m. Jonathan Phelps; and d. Aug. 9, 1827.
- XII. Phebe, b. March 2, 1786.
