Robert Abbott is a featured name in Anderson's Great Migration Series. There is more information there.

Anderson makes no mention of parents. Maurice Abbot was attached as father, but has been disconnected due to lack of source.

Further note on parentage: There is no evidence that Maurice Abbott, Lord Mayor of London, is the father of any of the Abbott lines who came to the new world. There is an article in the Surrey Archaeological Collections, volume III that contains a comprehensive biography of Maurice Abbot the Lord Mayor of London. If you go through a few pages, you will get to a pedigree chart that includes the names of his ten children, five from his first wife Joan Austen and five with his second wife Margaret Barnes. The names of his children are Bartholomew, Maurice (dies young), George, Maurice, Edward, Margaret, Elizabeth, Anne, Mary, and Martha. He has no son Robert. All his children were born, lived, and died in London which can be amply documented. (I would attach the article, but do not think that I can; but here the web address of the pdf of the article: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/archiveDS/archiveDownload?t=arch-379-1/dissemination/pdf/vol_3/surreyac003_254-266_king.pdf.) It is time to put this myth to rest.

According to the cited reference, Anderson "Great Migration.." a John and a Mary Abbott embarked on ship Hopewell 6 Apr 1635, and both were between 11 and 21 years old. This doesn't fit either of the listed spouses of Robert Abbott-537, who is shown there as arriving 1634. The children up at least to the one born in 1640 must have been from Robert's 1st spouse, including Abbott-15, if she is the child of Abbott-537, which the profile Abbott-15 says is in doubt. There is a tradition, not supported by reliable sources, that the 1st spouse is Mary WELLS, d. before the marriage of Abbott-537 and Unknown-159025.

Abbott-3309 and Abbott-537 appear to represent the same person because: I believe these are meant to be the same Robert. I am questioning the father Maurice. He will be disconnected if a valid source is not found. Abbott-3309 was also attached: an Elizabeth who married Gabriel Harris (which is why I believe they are the same Robert. She is not his daughter and was disconnected. After the merge or before she should be disconnected from the merged profile. See the bio on Abbott-3308
