Moses was born about 1739, or 1740. He is the son of Moses Abbott. [1]
Moses Abbott [2]S Jr. .... "Born in or near Berwick" his farther, Moses Abbott Sr., removed to Nova Scotia, about 1740 his brother, Reuben, born 7 Jan 1741, Nova Scotia. The family found later at Sullivan, Hancock County, Maine
He was a soldier in the revolution, a corporal in Capt. Daniel Sullivan's company, Col. Benjamin Foster's Lincoln County regiment, in 1777, serving at three alarms at Machias, Maine. He was in the same company (Sixth Lincoln county regiment), in 1780, called out to protect Frenchman's Bay under Col. John Allen. He had the rank of lieutenant later." [2]
