Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month!
We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:
Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.
We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.
And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I'm here to help!
I see that you just volunteered. That's great! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors?
I see you have several surnames for tags. Have you checked out the One Name Studies project? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started. Let me know if you need any help!
You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thanks for volunteering.
Remember to have fun and ask for help if you ever get stuck!
WikiTree members are keen to help!! If you require a little more detailed help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.
Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email youll receive has helpful links to help get you started.
WikiTree is somewhat different from other genealogy websites you may have seen in that our goal is to have one profile per person, meaning we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer. Tell us why the tags you chose to add are important to you, and click the volunteer button. One of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
Check out our Help Pages and feel free to ask a question on our G2G Forum if you get stuck.

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.
