John was the son of Samuel Abell & Susanna Spalding. John was born about 1755 St. Mary's County, Maryland. John was a Captain in the Revolutionary War. He was an inspector at the tobacco warehouse in Leonardtown, Maryland. John passed away on 1 February 1820 Calvary, Washington County, Kentucky He is buried in Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Calvary, Marion County, Kentucky.
