Biography

William Abell was born in 1770 in Leonardtown, St Mary's, Province of Maryland, son of Peter Abell (~1745 - <1785) and Lucy (Carman) Polke (~1749 - 1814).[citation needed]

His siblings may have been:

  1. Sarah (Abell) Edmondson (1769 - ~1840)
  2. Lucy (Abell) French (~1771 - <1850)
  3. Ignatius Abell (1775 - 1840)
  4. Ann (Abell) Polke (1778 - 1853)
  5. Samuel (Able) Abell (1783 - 1840) William's son was Samuel Clayton Abell (1810 - 1890).

William may have married Elenor Haggins or Higgins, daughter of Margaret, in Nelson County, Kentucky on 25 Jan 1793.[1]

William was found in the US census for Nelson County, Kentucky in 1810 and 1830.[2][3]

He may have died in 1838 in Cedar Creek, Nelson, Kentucky, United States aged ~68 [see Research Notes].
