^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Sara Pittis married James Abraham. She was the eleventh child of Thomas and Mary Clarke Pittis of Newport, Isle of Wight, and was b. May 4, 1787, bapt. Dec. 27, 1792; d. Nov. 11, 1844, aged 57; married 1810, James Abraham, b. 1787; d. Nov. 16, 1857, aged 70, according to the burial records of Deersville, where both were buried. The name was often shortened to Abram when spoken and some descendants adopted that form. He was a miller at Blackwater, Arreton Parish, Isle of Wight. They and their five children emigrated from the Isle on the brig Nepos, a sailing vessel built and owned in Boston. It was chartered by James Abraham and George Hearn, left the port of Cowes May 26 and reached Philadelphia July 20, 1821.

The ship’s manifest lists among its passengers James Abraham, wife and five children. In their son William’s records, it was stated that “they proceeded to Newcomerstown, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and after a few years moved to Deersville, Harrison County, Ohio, where they resided until their deaths.”

James bought a farm three miles south of Deersville in Nottingham Township, near the farm of her brother Robert Pittis, Sr., and had a water-power sawmill there. Sara was eligible to 20 pounds under the will of her grandfather John Pittis of Wymering. She was a legatee to 50 pounds under the will of her mother, but the item was crossed out, presumably after Sarah went to America. By codicil, Mary state that she had sent 60 pounds to Sarah in America; by another codicil Sarah was left 40 pounds at Mary’s death. Five children, born on the Isle of Wight, married at Deersville, Harrison County, Ohio.

France, d. 1835, Newcomerstown, soon after the birth of their second child. She m. (2) Hon Morris Creter, Probate Judge of Tuscarawas County. Morris and Jane are buried in the Creter lot in the Newcomerstown Cemetery. Jane emigrated from the Isle of Wight to Ohio at the age of eight. Eight children, two by Clark, six by Creter

2.1. Andrew Clark, b. 1833; unmarried. He remained with his parents until 1859; went to Oregon and settled on a horse ranch near Prairie City, later became postmaster of Prairie City; moved to Baker City, Oregon, where he died in 1908.

2.2. Emma Abraham Clark, b. Aug. 15, 1835; d. Nov. 21, 1908, aged 73; married July 3, 1853 Newcomerstown, Andrew Miller Everhart, b. Mar. 11, 1832, Jefferson Co., Ohio., d. Sept. 1924, aged 92. They remained in Newcomerstown until 1857; went to Moscow, Muscatine Co.,, Iowa 1857; moved to Wheatland, Iowa, bet. 1860 and 1865; moved to Oxford Junction, Iowa, 1892 where she died and both are buried. He was a carpenter, was foreman in bridge dept. of Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul R.R.; retired in 1913; received annual transportation pass until death. On July 4, 1903, they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary at Oxford Junction with family and friends. Eight children. 2.2.1. Horace Greeley Everhart, b. Mar. 19, 1856, Newcomerstown, d.
