Sorry that I haven't been on here for a while. I'm unfortunately dealing with the aftermath of cancer, but will be back on board as soon as possible to sleuth and add more lines and links to my trees.

Hi and Welcome Rhonda! I'm glad you found us. To become a full member (aka Wiki Genealogist), you’ll need to sign the Honor Code. For a list of helpful links, please click my name and check out the links I list under my "Greeter" section – especially the Sources links and links to my fellow greeters Debby and Maggie, who have helpful information on their profile pages also. If you get stuck on anything and can't find an answer in WikiTree Help, you can post to the G2G forum or give me a holler. Thank you for joining our collaborative tree!

Enjoy!

Welcome to WikiTree thank you for Volunteering to Help Grow our World Wide Family Tree by adding your Branches

Everything on WikiTree is a Collaborative Work in Progress so dont forget to read our Honor Code its what keeps WikiTree a Friendly and Helpful Community good luck with your search Terry

In tracing pre-1900's Appalachian KY/TN/VA/WV ancestry, I've found that one will very often be stonewalled in that pursuit due to the economic conditions of those early eras; the combining or integration of families because of abandonment or death; illiteracy; abbreviated, mispronounced or misspelled names; missing or destroyed family records (bibles, diaries, certificates, etc.), and because of inadequate or missing federal, state, and locality/district records.

I hope to assist in the growing of this collaborative tree through the discovery and contribution of accurate, traceable information, both, for my own knowledge, and for the knowledge and sense of identity and belonging that it may impart to future descendents.
