Born and Raised in the Hellertown area he registered for the draft June 5, 1917 [1].
Corporal Ackerman was Killed in Action in Baulny, France October 8, 1918[2]. His body was brought home after the war and interred with his family in Union Cemetery, Hellertown, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, USA[3]
