Mary Agnes was born to David and Sarah Jane (Hillhouse) Ackert[1]. According to census records at the age of 6 months was the last time that Mary was a child of these two people and David Ackert fell off all known records. It has been reported that Sarah Jane had put the 3 youngest of 5 children on the orphan train and kept the 2 oldest children. the family of the Mersmen's adopted the 3 children as servants and only in later years were the 2 oldest children researched and found the 3 younger children, but at this time Mary had already passed. Mary was the Great Grandmother of Michael Wiskus. Through the process of adoption, Mary has several years of possible birth the Nearest and the one that makes the most sense is November 1879.
