Humberto Acosta-Rosario was born January 15, 1947. He joined the military in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and was a machine gunner with B Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry, 25 Infantry Division. August 22, 1968, he was on reconnaissance near the Ben Cui rubber plantation, Tay Ninh Province, South Korea. His unit came under fire and his remains were never recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, his name is on panel 47W, line 030 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. and in El Monumento de la Recordación in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also has a headstone with his name inscribed on it at Plot: MB 0 6 of Puerto Rican National Cemetery in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
