Activity feeds

Categories: WikiTree Help

Activity feeds enable you to track changes on WikiTree. Here are the different kinds of feeds.

Contents

Family Activity Feed

Click the Family Activity Feed link in your "My WikiTree" menu to see a full list of changes to profiles in your Watchlist.

Recent activity in your Watchlist also appears on your Navigation Home Page.

Once a week, a summary of the activity is e-mailed to you. This summary excludes changes that you yourself have made.

If your Family Activity Feed is overwhelming, you may want to cut down the size of your Watchlist. Use this form to remove yourself from Trusted Lists.

Wiki Genealogy Feed

Click the Wiki Genealogy Feed link in your "My WikiTree" menu to see a list of changes to all profiles with the surnames that you are following.

Recent activity in your followed surnames also appears on your Navigation Home Page.

Once a day, a summary of the activity is e-mailed to you.

G2G Feed

Click the G2G Feed link in your "My WikiTree" menu to see a list of questions and answers in the Genealogist-to-Genealogist (G2G) Q&A Forum that have been tagged with a surname or project tag that you are following.

Once a day, a summary of the G2G activity is e-mailed along with your Wiki Genealogy Feed.

Changes to a Profile

Every profile has its own activity feed. Click the Changes tab on the profile to see it. This displays all the changes made to that particular profile.

Member Contributions

Every WikiTree member has an activity feed that displays all the changes that they have made. Click the Contributions link on an active member's profile.

Your personal Contributions page shows your changes. If you have a website or blog you can display these with a cool little "widget".

Thank-You Feed

We also have feeds for Thank-Yous. You can view all the thank-yous received for a particular contribution or all the thank-yous received by you or another user.

Once a week, recent thank-yous are e-mailed along with your Family Activity Feed.

Site-Wide Activity

If you're familiar with other wikis you may recognize activity feeds as user-friendly versions of history pages.

The site-wide Recent Changes activity feed on WikiTree isn't public. Sysops just use it to watch for spam and vandalism.
