Elizabeth Neely Adair was born in 1825 in the Cherokee Nation (East) the daughter of Walter Scott Adair and Nancy Harris, both Cherokee. The family was Removed to Indian Territory in 1838. She married Timothy Meigs Walker, also Cherokee, in the Cherokee Nation in 1843. [1] They were the parents of eleven children, Emily, Nancy, John, Walter, [2] Dedrick, Richard, Edward, Lowrey, Irby, Timothy Jr., and Thomas. [3] Timothy died in 1894. Elizabeth was enrolled by the Dawes Commission in 1902, [4] and was admitted to the Eastern Cherokee payment Roll in 1907. [5] Elizabeth died in 1908 and is buried with Timothy at the Walker Cemetery, Muskogee, Oklahoma. [6]
